T-Bird and the Breaks

“Monkey Wrench / Plenty of Soul”

Perhaps one of the most quintessentially cool bands still around, T-Bird and the Breaks is the ideal modern rhythm and blues group insofar as you’re seeking that true roots sound.

The thumping bass, the punctuating brass, the melodic backup singers, the crunching guitar, and the effortless lead vocals all blend together in what can only be: cool.

Lead singer Tim Crane launched his project from Austin, TX and since then amassed a cult following from Texas to his home state of Massachusetts.

Crane professed to learn from the greats: Booker T. and the MG’s, Otis Redding, and James Brown. According to NPR, his father used to put him to bed singing Mississippi John Hurt and Howlin’ Wolf. Any band who lists these artists as their inspiration is certainly worth a listen.

Lean back and listen to this magic.
