Old Spice Bar Soap

Old SpiceThis is a sponsored post written by us for Old Spice’s “Smell it Forward” campaign. We were paid to write this article, but Old Spice did not have any editorial say in the finished piece, and only gave minimal direction on form and theme.

You there–reading this: I know what you do in the shower. You know, the soap thing. Gross. You’re just using that bar of soap your girlfriend picked out, aren’t you? You know, the one that smells like daylilies? Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. If you’re looking for an exit plan from that poor choice, I hear there are lots of nice women at J.Crew–oh–sorry, wrong poor choice.

The other poor choice is that atrocious soap. What are you even doing? Take a look at your life. Where do you see yourself in 5 years, using soap like that. Grab a rope for that soap and get a handle on your shower situation. Old Spice bar soap is here for you, man. I’ve used Old Spice deodorant for years, because it’s just one of those grooming staples I can’t do without. Now, following the success of their body wash, they just released their soap in bar form for the 42% of men who aren’t into those fluffy loofah things but still want to get their lather on.

They sent some bars over in all three scents for yours truly to test out, and I’m hereby reporting back on my findings.

Old Spice Fiji Bar Soap

Old Spice Fiji Bar Soap

Old Spice Fiji bar soap is the beachgoer’s soap–palm trees, the ocean, and salty air. It smells fresh and clean while still giving you the feeling you spent all afternoon surfing. Smell like the kind of man who lives in the kind of place you’d like to smell like. Or something like that.

Old Spice Pure Sport Bar Soap

Old Spice Pure Sport Bar Soap

The Old Spice Pure Sport bar soap is based off their deodorant of the same scent, which is great if you want to pair it up and match your scents. Of the three, Pure Sport has the faintest smell, which is great for athletes who don’t want to smell like Sally when they’re driving the lane. It doesn’t linger around like that daylily stuff you’re using now, and it’s a great upgrade for the active guy.

Old Spice Swagger Bar Soap

Old Spice Swagger Bar Soap

The Old Spice Swagger bar soap is the most powerful-smelling soap of the three, and the scent is kind of hard to explain. It’s like soap meets Maverick. This smell is undoubtably a manly upgrade from whatever is currently melting into your soap dish right now, and is probably my favorite of the three.

So, in conclusion, Old Spice bar soap is your savior from all those soaps that are either not strong enough to wash off your man sweat, or smell like you just bathed in rose petals. To make things even better, you can score 6 bars for like $3.50. Nuts, right? If you’re looking for some no-nonsense soap that is backed 75 years of making men smell like men, then this bar soap from Old Spice is a sure thing.
