So, long-time readers will remember a review we wrote almost a year ago on Taun, an anti-aging formula developed by Tom and Andrew (not me, a different Andrew), a couple of swell guys. Well, my Taun review a year ago focused mainly on Taun as a moisturizer and skin repairing formula because, pff, I’m in my mid-twenties, what do I care about anti-aging?
During the year following my review, I aged another year (go figure!) and my skin became one year older. I’m now closer to 30 than I am 20, and this made me think again about anti-aging. Tom contacted me again, telling me they just got Taun into Birchbox, and that they got new packaging. He sent over another jar of Taun for me to see, and I think the new design rules (although I do miss the wispy packaging stuff they had before). The jar is also larger, but the price is still the same, so it just became a better value.
So, sitting with this new jar of Taun in my hands, I thought to myself: “What can I do with this?” Use it, duh. “But you already reviewed it, dummy.” Oh, well then let’s do something else. Yes, I have dialogues with myself–that’s normal, right?
So, with this article, I’m going to announce an ongoing project in anti-aging, something I’ve dubbed: The Two Taun Test.
I’m going to use the 3/4ths full jar I have remaining of the old stuff, paired with the full new jar, and document the results as I go. I have no idea how this is going to turn out, obviously, so we will discover the effects of Taun’s anti-aging properties as we go. It’s already a great moisturizer, but I want to test out what it’s known for: anti-aging. Here are the rules:
1. I will use Taun every night before I go to sleep.
2. I will not use any other anti-aging products during this time.
3. I will maintain the same skincare routine I do on a daily basis.
4. I will check in every couple weeks or so with an update.
I’ve chosen my biggest trouble spot for premature wrinkles: my forehead. This will be the basis of the experiment. Below is a photo of my forehead as it stands right now on day zero.
Let’s see what happens to those bad boys over the course of The Two Taun Test.
